Xanthe Allen is a young emerging mezzo-soprano who is about to begin her 3rd Year in a Bachelor of Music (Classical Voice) at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. Under the tutelage of Prof. Margaret Schindler, Xanthe has immensely enjoyed her experience studying at the Conservatorium. A Canberra born artist, Xanthe has had many performance experiences in plays, musicals, jazz programs, orchestras and choirs. Being a former violinist, Xanthe enjoys a wide variety of music and is looking forward to completing her training, with hopes to pursue her postgraduate studies overseas.

Previous Music Programs & Performances
Been involved in four productions including “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat” playing the lead role (“Joseph”) with Radford College (2013), Barnum with Canberra Grammar School and Canberra Girls Grammar School (2015), “Steel Magnolias” playing “Shelby” (2018), and “Wicked” playing the lead role “Glinda” with CGGS (2019). ANU School of Music extension course (Jazz, 2018) and won the Music Prize as a Year 12 Graduate (2019). Accepted into the Guildhall School of Music and Drama for 2021 B.Mus Classical Voice (Hons) entry - however due to COVID, was unable to accept. Recent performances include Queensland’s Conservatorium of Music productions “Iolanthe” directed by Stuart Maunder, “Val Machin Opera Scenes: Orpheus!” directed by Lois Redman and will be performing in Michael Gow’s production of “Underworld: An Operatic Journey to Hell and Back” in September 2023. Xanthe was also delighted to take part of the Brisbane ArtSong Festival (July, 2023) as an emerging artist, participating in a masterclass lead by Benjamin Appl and Sholto Kynoch.
