As we embark on our biggest ever season in 2024, we need your help to make our vision of more opera for Brisbane a reality.
Since 2021, Voxalis Opera has slowly established itself as a fresh addition to Brisbane’s operatic scene. Known for its ‘erudite and popular twists’ (InReview Qld), Voxalis Opera is a unique organisation in Brisbane with emerging singers and audiences at the core of its mission. By engaging with outstanding Brisbane-based opera singers, in particular those on the cusp of a professional career, we offer beautiful music and valuable employment opportunities that help to nurture this next generation of artists. Next year we aim to continue this important work with an innovative 2024 season that focuses on the relevance of human experience and storytelling through opera.
In 2024, we embark on an ambitious season, with four exciting productions including:

A fully staged performance of the fairytale opera, Hansel and Gretel

The Australian premiere of the chamber opera, For a Look or a Touch
-
A new production of the oratorio, The Triumph of Time and Truth
-
A pocket version of the beloved classic, The Marriage of Figaro
How We Will Use The Funds:
So far, Voxalis Opera projects have been predominantly self-funded, with a small number of local sponsorships and donations assisting our costs. Funding limitations have affected our reach and capacity to create the large scale productions we know we can deliver. By supporting Voxalis Opera’s 2024 season with a tax deductible donation, you will be enabling us to succeed in our mission to create meaningful paid performance opportunities for local artists, especially emerging opera singers as well as promote this beautiful art form to a new audience.
In particular, funds raised from our Australian Cultural Fund campaign will go towards:

Fees for our 2024 artists including directors, instrumentalists, and production team

Venue fees for performances, workshops and rehearsals

Operational costs such as public liability insurance, accounting fees, as well as marketing our activities
