Brisbane born Tenor, Shannon Leonard completed his undergraduate degree in Classical Voice at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music before moving to the UK in 2012 to continue his vocal studies in London and Cambridge. 

In 2014, he then moved to Berlin and studied with acclaimed coloratura Soprano, Janet Williams. It was in Berlin where he began to specialise in German repertoire, most notably the oratorios of J.S. Bach and performed regularly in the role of Evangelist in the Weihnachtsoratorium and the St Mathew’s Passion. He frequently appeared on the operatic stage performing in roles of Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Ferrando (Cosi fan tutte) and Count Almaviva (Barber of Seville).

Alongside his solo commitments, Shannon regularly performed in a number of leading professional ensembles such as the Berlin Rundfunk Chor, the Leipzig Rundfunk Chor as well as his own celebrated sextet, GANZ A Cappella who performed across Germany and the UK and in 2019 toured to Australia and New Zealand.

Since returning to Australia in 2020, Shannon has performed as a soloist and ensemble singer with a number of choral societies, including the Bach Society of Queensland, Brisbane Chamber Choir and One Equal Music. He also performed the role of Jesus in the world premiere of John Rotar’s acclaimed Passio.
