Sarah is a 22 year old Dunedin, NZ born Soprano. She holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Otago, and is currently studying towards a Post Graduate Certificate in Opera Studies at the Queensland Conservatorium under the tutelage of Margaret Schindler.
Most notably Sarah was named as a grand finalist in the prestigious NZ Lexus Song Quest in 2022 at just 21 years old, where she performed with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and was live broadcast on national radio. Sarah has been involved in numerous New Zealand Competitions, and was the winner of the Canterbury Opera Foundation Aria Competition in 2023. Sarah has also competed as a finalist in the Napier Brayden Coldicutt Aria Competition and the North Shore Becroft Aria Competition. In Australia thus far, Sarah has found success winning the Joyce Campbell Lloyd Travel Scholarship through QCGU and was also awarded most promising singer not in the final at the National Liederfest in Melbourne.
Sarah was awarded the FAME emerging practitioner scholarship from the University of Otago in 2022 in recognition of her successes in the field. Sarah made her debut with New Zealand Opera in 2022 in their production of Macbeth, playing one of the Apparitions and being in the chorus. Along with New Zealand Opera, Sarah has been a regular performer with Opera Otago. Sarah is an alumni of the 2021, 2022 and 2023 New Zealand Opera Schools.
