Mezzo-soprano, Jessica Low, studied at the University of Southern Queensland (winning the Delith Brook Johnson award for Outstanding Vocal Performance) and The Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University.
Jessica works for Opera Queensland in numerous capacities; as a soloist, a cover, a member of the professional chorus and a facilitator of community workshops for people of all ages. Performance highlights include featured soloist in Opera Queensland’s regional tour Songs to Die for, The Spirit in Dido & Aeneas by Purcell, Sylviane in The Merry Widow by Lehar, The Cleaner (Shepherd solo) in Tosca by Puccini, and Orfeo cover in Gluck’s Orpheus & Eurydice. Jessica created the role of Hansel in Hansel & Gretel for the original co-production between Opera Queensland and shake and stir theatre co. This production was seen by over 13, 000 children in its first iteration. In 2023, she performed for Opera Australia in their sell-out Brisbane season of Aïda.
Also a regular performer with The 7 Sopranos - this has allowed Jessica opportunities for extensive regional touring, performances on national television and sharing music in exotic locations like Abu Dhabi, Uluru and many places in between.
Jessica is passionate about all aspects of music and music education; skilled as a performer, singing teacher, early childhood music educator, workshop presenter and conductor. She strives to nurture the next generation of performers and music lovers, helping them to find their own unique voice.
